Rita Beltrán was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, where her early fascination with the arts set her on a creative path. As a child, she dreamed of becoming an architect, often sketching blueprints in her notebooks. That curiosity eventually led her to pursue a degree in Graphic Design, complemented by a minor in Printmaking at the University of Texas at El Paso.
Beltrán’s college years were transformative. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy, immersing herself in courses that spanned Italian language, art history, painting, jewelry, and printmaking. This experience deepened her love for art and gave her the foundation to explore design in an international context. After graduation, she returned to Italy, where she lived for three years and worked at a marketing and communications agency.
In 2006, Beltrán relocated to New York City, which remains her home and creative base today. She has built a career as an Art Director and Graphic Designer, bringing ideas to life across branding, print, and digital media. Beltrán was an art director at Ralph Lauren for twelve years and then ventured out as a freelancer. Her clients span from Spotify to high fashion editorials. Beyond her professional work, she nurtures her artistic practice through watercolor painting, creating commissioned works for weddings and special events.
