Bradford Maxfield is an Austin-based artist and designer whose work combines woodwork, graphic design, and large-scale murals. A graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, he describes himself as a “visual problem solver,” with a practice shaped by the culture and energy of the border where he grew up.
Skateboarding, video games, and the visual languages of subcultures have all influenced his aesthetic, which often mixes bold graphics with playful experimentation. Many of his works merge two-dimensional design with woodwork and painting, creating pieces that blur the line between mural and installation.
Maxfield’s projects have been featured at SXSW and commissioned by organizations including BMW, Facebook, Goodwill, and Providence Children’s Hospital. His work reflects a balance of precision and improvisation, drawing equally from Southwest motifs and contemporary design culture.
